Stag ‘n Dear was inspired by both our male and female clientele, aiming to maintain the authentic, fresh and rugged, masculine atmosphere of a barbershop with a touch of pretty for the ladies. Having trained at a top hair college and hair salon in Durban from 2008, Kelsey qualified as a Hairstylist in 2011. After gaining some work experience and further education in makeup artistry the following year, Kelsey was equipped to take her career to sea, working in a spa on board NCL and Crystal Cruise liners as a barber and hairstylist. Upon returning to shore in July 2016, she reconnected with friend and well-known Durban barber, Nev. For the next four years, she worked with him in his barbershop, Nev the Barber, and it was there that she was able to establish her career in men’s grooming, while also providing a welcoming atmosphere for ladies hairstyling. With the launch of Stag ‘n Dear in April 2020, Kelsey continues to strive to provide the same quality cuts with a slightly different vibe.
